film的意思是胶卷。

胶卷又名底片,菲林,是一种成像器材。现今广泛应用的胶卷是将卤化银涂抹在聚乙酸酯片基上,此种底片为软性,卷成整卷方便使用。当有光线照射到卤化银上时,卤化银转变为黑色的银,经显影工艺后固定于片基,成为我们常见到黑白负片。彩色负片则涂抹了三层卤化银以表现三原色。除按尺寸分类

常见的有120胶卷和135胶卷。

经常用的橘兆档是135胶卷,135胶卷适应于各种型号的135照相机。这种胶卷宽35毫米,长160~170厘米,胶卷两边有按规则排列的片孔。一般可拍摄3.6厘米×2.4厘米的底片36张,也有可拍摄20、24、72张的135胶卷。

胶卷按感光速度分类

按感光速度有iso100、iso200、iso400等等。这里数值变一倍则曝光时所需的曝光量也变一倍,数值越大则速度越快。当然,以前也用过很多其他速度表示方法,常见的有美国ASA制和德国的DIN制

普通胶卷

("定"制)。我国采用GB(即国家标准)制,与DIN制相当。根据GB制,可分为快片(GB24°以上),中速片(GB21°),慢片(GB18°)以下。每增加GB3°,其感光度就增加一倍。如GB24°胶卷就比GB21°胶卷的感光度快一倍。各种感光度标准,可以互相换算。ASA100相当于GB21°或21DIN。

常用的底片规格是135,在数位摄影不断的普及下,还沿用底片摄影的已经不多,而底片仍有其无可取代的优点,例如135底片面积就比多数数码相机感光板(数码介质)大,如果要制作大幅照片,仍然是用底片较佳,另外底片影像层次感较强、色彩自然(类比产生的色彩)、图质细腻(像素高)、宽容度大(容易保留亮部或暗部细节)等,其成象质素较数码相机为佳。尤其在光线暗的情况下,会需要长时间曝光拍摄,或在冲洗底片时作增感显影(提高显影液浓度或拉长显影时间),例如KodakTri-X400增感显影至iso1600,甚至KodakT-maxp3200增感显影至iso6400也有不错的画质,然而长时间曝光在数位摄影上会产生大量噪声,因此有部分摄影师仍坚持使用底片拍摄。

虽然用胶卷拍摄能制作猜差素质高的相片,然而这需要熟习暗房技巧,一般来说快冲印店难以充分发挥底片的优点,所以用底片摄影者最好亲自冲印相片,例如可以在印放相片的时候实行分区曝光,自行调整相片反差及裁剪,另外也因为黑白冲印所用的药水毒性远较彩色冲印低,并且冲印过程较简单,所以很多人在黑白暗房作手工冲印,彩色底片多数用自动冲印机器来避免接触彩色冲印的药水,不过手工冲印的素质比自动冲印机器佳。除了负片之外还有正片及一次成像底片等等。
